Miami Dolphin Served Papers for Investigation into Alleged Aaron Hernandez Gun Trafficking Operation

According to Sports Illustrated, NFl Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey was served a subpoena yesterday just outside the visitors’ locker room at Gillette Stadium after their loss to the New England Patriots because of information he may have about a multi-state gun-trafficking ring in which Aaron Hernandez may be involved. Hernandez has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and five counts related to weapons in the murder of Odin Lloyd, and there are suspicions that he may be involved in a July 2012 double-homicide. Both Mike Pouncey and twin Maurkice were  teammates and roommates with Hernandez when they were at the University of Florida, and they recently showed their support for Hernandez by donning “Free Hernandez” hats while celebrating their birthdays in July at a Miami nightclub.

Apparently Pouncey was caught by surprise when presented with the papers as he emerged from the Dolphins locker room, asking “What’s this about?”  Sports Illustrated claims that one of the officials who served the papers told Pouncey “Make sure you arrive.”
