Caleb McGillvary, a.k.a. “Kai the Hatchet-Wielding-Hitchhiker”, may find himself permanently off the road thanks to a grand jury in New Jersey. That grand jury decided to hand up an indictment against McGillvary, charging him with the murder of 74-year-old lawyer Joseph Galfy of Clark, New Jersey. Galfy was found dead in his home on May 13. Police said the victim was wearing only his underwear and socks On May 14, McGillvary posted on his Facebook page suggesting he’d been drugged and raped, but gave no further details.
McGillvary, who attained Internet fame earlier this year when he fought off a man claiming to be Jesus who had been attacking a Fresno, California utility worker with his car. When the attacker then turned his attention on a female witness, Kai jumped in, beating the assailant with a hatchet he carried with him. The video of his interview with local news was a viral sensation back in February, leading Kai to even appear on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
