According to TMZ Sports former NFL New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez beat up a fellow inmate at the Bristol (Massachusetts) County Jail on Tuesday where he is being held on charges of 1st-degree murder in the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd.
Because of his high profile status Hernandez has been kept in a separation ward where 6 of the 8 units are said to be occupied, and where no two occupants are ever to be in direct physical contact with another. The unnamed inmate who was beat up by Hernandez had apparently been verbally harassing Hernandez continuously until Hernandez, in a breach of protocol, set upon the man who as it turns out was handcuffed. Unlike in the photo above, Hernandez was not in handcuffs.
Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson told ABC News “We will be studying video and proceeding with interviews to determine why and how the incident took place to determine whether internal discipline or criminal charges are warranted.”
Despite the altercation neither inmate needed medical attention after the incident.
