At 3:30 in the morning a Fort Mill, South Carolina mother discovered that her 15-year-old daughter had had sex with a stranger, whereupon she grabbed a BB gun and held the man at gunpoint until York County Sheriff Deputies arrived.

Said the mother, “If he tried to escape, I would have shot him.

York County Sheriff's Office

York County Sheriff’s Office

Addison Pittman, 23,  met the daughter on the social media site Kik, where they struck up a digital relationship for 5 months until he physically showed up after having been invited over for sex. According to wistv.com the 15-year-old knew that Pittman was 23, but PIttman told her mother when confronted that he was 17. It wasn’t until Sheriff’s deputies arrived that his true age was revealed.

If I knew he was 23 at the time, I probably would have pulled this BB gun and shot him,” claimed the mother.

Kids nowadays are just so disgusting. 15 years old and already having sex. Sigh. Disgusting. Eww

    • Chris Lachapelle

Human teens have been having sex under 18 for 30k years; this is nothing new.

      • Jono

Stephanie will be shocked to hear that – she still hasn’t had sex.

        • Gayle73

          Lol

        • Xander Angel

          Lmao.

      • Robbie L Shoulders

yeah but not in there mothers house while she there..come on… im 23 myself and when i was 15 i was having sex (with older people i might add) but i was not dumb or brave enough to bring someone home. i respect my mom and her house more then that. and thats what the real issue is.

        • holoh

You were 15 and having sex? Gross and stupid. I hope you got nigger aids.

          • amiegirl1502

Your ignorant and immature. You are equally and obviously a part of the problem with society today. Why would you wish something like that on another person? Robbie wasnt rude or disrespectful to you or anyone…and he is respectful of his mother. He is being honest and stating his opinion in a mature fashion. Meanwhile your running your mouth like some hood rat. I think you cant get laid and should probably go fuck yourself.

          • holoh

Respectful of his/her mother by fucking older people, but not in his mother’s house? From where I come from, not doing stuff behind someone’s back shows respect, not the other way around. I love your hypocritical response to me though. I hope your family dies in a fire, douchebag.

          • Justforholoh

Damn I read some of your comments and I have to say that you seem like a very angry person that thinks too highly of their beliefs, and you think you are so right that you try to shutdown any other opinion that differs from yours by throwing insults. Now, I am well aware of what I just said being a loose description of who you actually are based on the fact that I just came up with that after only reading like 3 of your comments so I don’t know if you are actually like that in real life, but all I need to say is that if you actually talk to people in real life like you did here; then you are a piece of crap, coming from someone who doesn’t contribute anything to society, congratulations, you were so much of a crappy person that I wanted to waste my time typing this comment. So if you actually are like this, you need an attitude check before you can start trying to prove people wrong otherwise you wont have many people caring about your opinions.

          • holoh

It’s “…a very angry person WHO thinks too highly of their beliefs…”, not “THAT”. Bitch.

    • holoh

I’m glad to hear there are still people out there like you that have some morals and “traditional” values. Cheers!

    • amiegirl1502

Its not kids nowadays. Its always been like this. And with all they are exposed to and the technology they have access to they are growing up faster than ever.

  • bebop

BB guns don’t hurt that much. I tried taking one away from my cousin when we were kids. He pulled the trigger when my finger was over the barrel tip. I got a blood blister. I guess he didn’t know it was only a bb gun or he would have ran.

    • Mary Strobridge

They did damage to my trailer and left dents…from some punk.

      • holoh

        LOL, trailer. Haha.

  • Rebecca

Ha ha thats a good Momma!! She did exactly what she should have done. She deserves a medal!

    • holoh

No, she’s a terrible mother who clearly did a shitty job of raising her daughter. They guy is scum, but he wasn’t raping her – they were having consensual sex. The mom’s actions are a day late and a dollar short at this point in her daughter’s life.

      • Jono

Clue: A 15 year old cannot have consensual sex with an adult in this state. It’s called statutory rape. Now no-one can claim you are clueless.

        • holoh

You are talking about legality and I’m talking about morality. Do you think the mother held a gun on the guy because she disapproved on legal grounds or moral grounds? Stop being a troll. Also, by the rape being designated statutory rape, that is an admission by authorities that it wasn’t forceful rape, only coercive rape. I hope you have daughters and they sleep with the worst older men you can imagine. And you’ll have to think back on your comment above and decide if you want to be a hypocrite and tell them that was wrong, or stick to your “principles” and tell them that they didn’t do anything wrong. You are what is wrong with society today.

          • Yoloh

Whoa. Sounds like a personal problem here HOloh

          • holoh

I’m not going to directly reply to someone who creates a profile just to reply to me and also doesn’t back up their criticism with any substance.

          • Yoloh

Because replying directly to me to say you are not going to reply is not a reply? I don’t need to backup my criticism of your outlandish statements, such as: “you are what is wrong with society today”, “she’s a terrible mother who clearly did a shitty job raising her child”…I think you’re confusing substance for bullshit sweeping generalizations in this case.

          • holoh

I didn’t reply to any of the content of your post and you still haven’t provided any substance. You’ve simply said I am wrong. I can’t dispute that other than to say that I still stand by my comments. You can’t convince anyone that you are correct by simply saying someone else is wrong. You have to tell why. Otherwise, don’t post on the boards, just keep the opinion to yourself. The reason to post on these boards is to convince others of your opinion. Otherwise, why bother – you are already convinced of your opinion, obviously.

          • amiegirl1502

What a hypocritical statement you just made. Ha, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You in way are commiting rape with your verbal vomit. Stating your opinion is one thing forcing it on someone is another story. You are so disrespectful that i really think whatever point you are trying to make is then null and void.

          • holoh

Please tell me what her opinion is. That is my point – she hasn’t said what her opinion is. How can I entitle her to an opinion that was not said? The only statement of any content she made was “It would be considered rape.” in response to my comment where I called it rape multiple times. How am I forcing my opinion on someone? How is that even possible on a discussion board?

          • Guest

Quit getting so bent out of shape.Just be glad it wasn’t your son or daughter….calling people names on here is not cool.

          • Mary Strobridge

            It would be considered rape.

          • holoh

No shit, dumbass. That’s why I called it rape – “statutory rape”. But you don’t tell the girl that she did everything ok when she invited a much older guy into her bedroom. Stop being a moron.

          • Mary Strobridge

cool off…ur getting all bent out of shape and be glad it wasn’t your daughter or son..legally and morally it’s wrong and your not telling ME anything i don’t already know. And i’m not a moron but u r for calling ME one.Do me a favor and GROW up, thank you.

          • holoh

You type like a pre-teen. If you are an adult, I’d say that makes you a moron. “ur” & “u r”? Are you kidding me? Also, it’s “you’re not telling ME”, as in “you are not telling ME”. I don’t possess anything in that case as the word “your” would indicate.

As for your “cool off” comment – if you didn’t want the heat, you shouldn’t have said “It would be considered rape” in reply to my comment that said it was rape. You brought the heat on yourself, you dumb bitch.

          • Guest

Clearly you do care what I think, otherwise you would never have commented on my post in the first place. Look, you commented on my post without reading it thoroughly and/or without thinking. Admit your mistake and move on. No matter how many posts you write calling me names and diverting attention from that, it won’t change the fact that you said “It would be considered rape” in reply to my comment that said it was rape.

  • Pam Jackson

    Good for mom.

    • holoh

Good for mom? Raise your child to be a slut and then catch her having sex with a scumbag 8 years older than her and you praise her? Strange.

      • Guest

Well, still not great but she did only think he was two years older than him. So not as much a slut as she was ignorant and grossly unsafe.

        • flutiefan

“According to wistv.com the 15-year-old knew that Pittman was 23,”

          no, she knew.

        • Alice Pilcher

In the story it states that the girl knew that he was 23, but the young man told her mother, when confronted, that he was 17.

  • Addy

what about your daughter who invited him over for sex? planning on shooting her too?

    • jjellybean

Are you serious?? She is 15!! He’s 23!

      • Addy

Yes I am serious. These young girls need to be held accountable for their actions too. Inviting a young man to your house should not result in him being held at gun point. If she were untruthful about her age and he thought he was with a consenting adult changes things. what of the young man who was murdered because he was invited to his girlfriend’s bedroom? Just because she’s 15 doesn’t mean she is innocent or know what she’s doing.

        • Mary Strobridge

That’s right and the next think her momma may find out if she goes(her daughter) goes sneaking around, her mother will be a grandmother.Better keep a eye on that girl!

        • Donna Austin

Addy, in this situation the ADULT is the one that has to be responsible enough not to show up at a teenager’s house to have sex with her. Be serious.

          • holoh

Why can’t both be responsible? Are you seriously trying to say that if this was your daughter, you would be telling her that what she did was perfectly fine? If so, you are part of the problem.

        • Katherine Skinner

I agree! If the girls didn’t invite them they wouldn’t come.

          • Barbara Morgan

If invited they don’t have to especially when he is 23 and knew she was 15.

        • Barbara Morgan

Read the whole story, he knew her age before HE DECIDED TO GO TO HER HOME AND HAVE SEX WITH A 15 YEAR OLD. They are both at fault here but he was the one that went to a 15 yr’s old home to have sex she didn’t go to his house. All he had to do to stay out trouble was stay at home and keep it in his pants, no rape charges, no possibility of have to register as a sex offender,

      • holoh

Yes, he is a rapist. But she is also a slut. 15 is old enough to know that inviting a 23 year old into your bedroom is a bad idea if there has been parenting involved prior to that. Clearly there hasn’t been in this case.

        • amiegirl1502

Ill tell you what the problem is with society today. Its that the majority of people dont, cant, or refuse to step back and take a look at the whole picture. Instead of trying to understand they critisize, they judge and look down on people who arent like them. This is why our judicial system is so messed up. Innocent people are harshly punished and bad people are set free. This is why the country is such a mess. The truth is what might be right for one person may be wrong for another. Teens everywhere are getting laid. They are curious. So many things play a part in who we are. But at the end of the day this girl chose to invite him over for sex and he accepted. She knew what she was doing and after talking for four months they had built a relationship. Healthy or not. They made the decision together. He may be equally as mature as her. She wanted it and he gave it to her. Thats how nature works. He should have thought it through and been more responsible. The mom isnt to blame for what her daughter did. No one forced anyone to have sex. There really isnt any morally wrong doing.

          • amiegirl1502

I got together with my husband when i was 16 and he was 23. I was very mature for my age having to grow up quickly. He was 7 years older but it didnt seem that way. We met and fell in love. Thats all there is to it. We now have been together for 21 years and married for 17. No one judged us and if they did we wouldnt have cared. I liked him and he liked me. Her mom had every right to be pissed. But it should end there. He shouldnt be arrested and treated like a rapist. His whole future could be destroyed because of this. Sure if he got her wasted and took advantage of her then understandable. If he forced her to do it ,then also a crime…understandable. In this case they are just 2 young people who wanted to get it on. If sex is consensual then

          • amiegirl1502

It should be accepted as just that.

          • John B

16 to 23 is not pedophilia. Pedophilia is defined by interest in pre-pubescent children. 16 is fully physically mature, though not emotionally so. The age of consent in most states is 16. A few states have “Romeo and Juliet” laws where there can be a specific spread of years if one or more of participants is not yet 18. That said any 23 year old that showed up to date my daughter would get told in no uncertain terms that he was to politely say goodbye and never come back. I’d tell him privately that he would disappear forever, if I ever saw him near my daughter again. Then I’d pack up my daughter and put her in boarding school.See, I won’t have this problem. Since I talk to my children, am involved in their lives and have helped show them the values that I expect.

          • holoh

Gross. Your husband is a pedophile. I hope you didn’t have kids, because your husband probably raped them. Also, if you think no one judged you, you are wrong. You just simply weren’t around people that had any values.

          • amiegirl1502

Like i said i don’t care if they did judge us. You obviously get off on being rediculous. So have fun with that. I don’t care to participate in your UN called for bull shit any longer as my time is more valuable and you are rediculous. Enjoy yourself. :)

          • holoh

Is rediculous a play on words?

Ok, I’ll try it – the purpletrator in this situation is clearly the black guy, but the white girl is a taupe of slut as well, I azure you. There is no grey area. She shouldn’t pink and choose. The mauvether should have shot both that khaki son of a bitch and her daughter too and called the coppers, I teal you what.

            Yeah, it doesn’t work.

          • chrissy

This comment made me LOL! Thank you!

          • LaraHa

            priceless – genius even!

          • holoh

So, you are judging those people who “dont, cant, or refuse to step back and take a look at the whole picture” as wrong while saying it’s bad to judge people. Have you looked at the definition of hypocrisy before? You are either an extra special kind of stupid or an extra special kind of insane.

          • amiegirl1502

IM not judging anyone just stating facts. And as far as special, insane, stupid sure and many other things as well. Just depends on the situation and / or who you ask. Lol, IM a well rounded individual. Thx for your input.

          • holoh

Well rounded does not mean that you have a license to be hypocritical. Perhaps you are referring to your body shape?

          • LaraHa

and what might your body type be? anonymity is a wonderful thing.

          • Jay J Jodoin

except for the fact he is 23 and she is 15, its not her consent…..because she is a minor, and like it or not it is Legally and morally wrong.

        • LaraHa

to continually refer to the girl as a slut is so demeaning. because at 15 she decided to have sex, that automatically makes her a slut? if it had been a teenage boy, would we be calling him names?

what is a slut anyway? why did she have sex? does it matter? to whom does is matter?

sex is personal decision and those of you sitting in judgement — well, it isn’t any of your business.

          • holoh

It wouldn’t be any of our business if thousands of dollars of ours weren’t taken from us each year by the federal government and then given to people like this to pay for their food, health care, phones, etc. If there were a derogatory word to describe 15 year old males who have sex, I would gladly do it. 15 years old is not old enough to be having kids, so it’s not old enough to be having sex, period. It’s not a “personal decision” when the consequences affect our entire society and therefore us as individuals. You are the one who is being judgmental of my position of not wanting to support these ass-bags anymore.

          • LaraHa

            “people like this…”

people like who? the fat woman in the photo? which has been enhanced to make her look even heavier.

actually i wasn’t being judgmental of your position of not wanting to support these “ass-bags” anymore because you didn’t mention that position.

when did you get to be god who determines who and who isn’t worthy of support?

may you never need help and may you always live a perfect life, with perfect children and with a perfect job.

may the universe always smile kindly on you, who smiles so unkindly on others.

            (check your grammar.)

          • holoh

            My grammar is perfect.

          • LaraHa

no it wasn’t. but luckily there is the edit button.

          • holoh

Please enlighten me as to where exactly my grammar was not flawless. Also, have you heard of capital letters?

          • LaraHa

” 15 year old males” — should be 15-year-old males.

“If there were a derogatory word”

should be “if there WAS a derogatory word” or “if there were derogatory WORDS.”

          • holoh

So, I left out two hyphens. That would be punctuation, not grammar, but you got me. We’ll call it even since you have not used capital letters in any of your posts and you don’t know the difference between grammar and punctuation.

As for were and was, “were” is correct in this case. Were has both singular and plural applications. If you are speaking of something that is not true, but you wish it to be true, then you use “were”. The reason is easily seen in this case. “If there WAS a derogatory word” asks only about the past, but not currently or in the future. That’s why we use “were”. Here is the best reference I can find that spells it out in plain English: http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/subjunctive-verbs

You have a very simplified “understanding” of the English language. It is not always as simple as singular and plural tenses.

Also, this posts be in an discussion board an ain’t gonna be published no anyware, so do not sweat it none.

          • LaraHa

gotcha, don’t seem like neither of us is flawless. do it. i don’t use capitals because it hurts my hands to do so.

      • elizabeth31

She needs repercussions, because it’s dangerous for her to invite people she knows aren’t kids over to the house to do adult stuff. What if his fetish was more than sex??? What if he was a killer? She put her mom in danger.

  • Donna Arnett

really she needs to deal with her daughter not the young man that came over because she invited him over for a night of sex these young girls these day’s are not being taught right!! I would have held the BB gun on the daughter

    • amiegirl1502

      I agree 100%

      • holoh

amiegirl1502, you are a complete hypocrite. I quote you above – “I got together with my husband when i was 16 and he was 23.” Yet you “agree 100%”. WHAT. THE. HELL. LADY.?

  • Mary Strobridge

Well, she could have sat on him to hold him down, but it may have suffocated him to death.

  • reverendflash

There is a significant aspect of racism in this story that most seem to be ignoring. What we have here is a woman who is holding an African-American at gunpoint for having sex with her daughter. While it did in fact turn out to be an instance of statutory rape, the mother did not know that at the time. She thought that the individual was 17, only two years older than her daughter. In South Carolina, if he had in fact really been 17, it would NOT have been rape. South Carolina law allows a buffer of four years for the sexual partners of people as young as 14. Therefore, in the mother’s mind, the only crime Mr. Pittman could have been committing was black-on-white sex.

    • holoh

YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT AND A LOT OF WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR SOCIETY. Responsible parents don’t just teach their children not to do things that are illegal, we teach our children not to do things that are immoral as well and if they do, they face the consequences. As for the woman holding the man at gunpoint, he was in HER house uninvited and she had every right to blow his fucking brains out if she had a real gun and I wish she had. I sincerely hope you are not a reverend if you don’t understand the difference between illegal and immoral behavior.

      • LaraHa

responsible parents can teach their kids all the important lessons in life, it doesn’t mean those kids are going to pay attention or live by their words.

another person trying to sit in judgement of others.

        • holoh

What are you talking about? I was commenting on the fact that reverend flash said the only thing going on “wrong” here in the mind of the mother was black on white sex. LaraHa – you are saying the mother isn’t allowed to think that a 15 year old having sex isn’t wrong?

Once again, you are judging me by saying that I am being judgmental. Are you the world’s worst hypocrite?

          • LaraHa

            your illogical loop is entertaining.

          • LaraHa
