Among details revealed in a lengthy legal document just released today in Italy is that former roommates Amanda Knox and Meredith Kercher fought over money the night Kercher was murdered.
It is also claimed that Kercher was attacked by multiple assailants, but that it was Knox “who lashed the deadly wound to the throat.”
Judges from the appellate court in Florence who handed down the guilty verdicts to then boyfriend Rafaelle Sollecito and Amanda Knox this past January also claim that Kercher was stabbed by two different knives, with Knox wielding one of them.
The release of the 337-page document is part of the process leading to the appeal of the January guilty verdicts by the Supreme Court of Cassation.
The document also states:
“It is a matter of fact that at a certain point in the evening events accelerated; the English girl was attacked by Amanda Marie Knox, by Raffaele Sollecito, who was backing up his girlfriend, and by Rudy Hermann Guede, and constrained within her own room.“
Rudy Guede if you may recall had a history of petty crime and was convicted separately of stabbing and sexually assaulting Kercher, and he fled to Germany after the murder. He acknowledges that he was in Kercher’s room the night she died but denies killing her. Guede was sentenced to 30 years in prison but had it reduced to 16 on appeal.
