It’s a case Anaheim Police and social services are investigating involving a mother, father and their 11-year-old autistic child.
According to a police press release, on July 1 authorities were called out to a home in the 1300 block of South Garrett Streets. Orange County Social Services called for assistance because they needed help with an investigation inside a house where three children lived.
Once inside the residence, authorities discovered a large dog kennel. The press release goes on to say the kennel had a mattress and bedding and appeared as if someone was kept inside.
Later it was revealed the 11-year-old’s parents, 40-year-old Loi Vu and 35-year-old Tracy Le would allegedly keep their son locked up in the kennel when he had frequent “outbursts.” A behavior associated with his Autism.
The parents, Loi and Le, were both taken into custody and booked on charges of felony child endangerment and false imprisonment.
Although the child victim may have been locked in a kennel, police say he otherwise appeared to be healthy. His basic needs were met.
The children are currently in protective custody.
