For years, Susan Howard Perry of Kansas City, MO has dealt with the poor service of her mail carrier, which is what drove her to tape him misbehaving with her mail. Little did she know the clip would go viral and cause her local post office to take notice.
Perry was tired of her mail getting damaged, destroyed or not delivered at all, so she decided to take matters in her own hands and catch her carrier as he handled an expensive book she ordered online.
In the video, which she later uploaded to Facebook, the postal worker throws the book on the ground and provided evidence of his continued negligence. Finally! Perry got the proof needed to feel justified with her frustration.
What she didn’t expect was a reaction—nay apology—from her mailman or the postal service.
But, that’s exactly what happened when the new post office manager paid a personal visit to Perry. “He showed up at my front door, and literally his boss had seen the video on Facebook, and he said, ‘I apologize’,” Perry told reporters.
After all, at the end of the day (or preferably by early afternoon), all Perry wanted was her mail.
The US Postal service released a statement about the incident, but have not confirmed whether or not Susan’s misbehaving mailman has been fired.
