Jennifer Ullery wasn’t happy with the amount of television her children were watching, so she shot up with TV set with a rifle.
Needless to say, the 40-year-old woman was arrested and now faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm without a FOID and three counts of endangering the life of a child.
Sitting on a couch in front of the set were her three kids—ages 15, 11 and 6—watching a music video from the rock band Primus when Ullery fired “multiple rounds” of a Ruger .22 long rifle.
Needless to say, the 50-inch Panasonic flatscreen shattered but, thankfully, none of the children were hurt.
The shooting originally happened on January 20, but the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services didn’t report it to authorities until February 9.
On Monday, Ullery appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to the felony and four misdemeanor offenses.
After her arrest, DCFS placed her children in the care of another family member, though it isn’t clear where they are now living.
Ullery is due back in court on April 20.
During that appearance, perhaps we’ll learn which channel was showing a Primus music video in 2015 because that’s almost beyond our comprehension.
