Cops Bust Man For Jumping Into Jousting Ring, Stealing Sword During Renaissance Faire

Police arrested a King Arthur wannabe after he stole a sword from a haystack at the Colorado Renaissance Festival.

The bizarro incident happened on Saturday when 22-year-old Connor Ward was allegedly so moved during a jousting show that he jumped into the ring to snatch the performer’s weapon. A woman dressed up as a wench tackled the man and held him down until police arrived, according to ABC Denver.

A rep for the Douglas Sheriff’s Office said Ward’s behavior might’ve been influenced by partaking in a little too much mead.

When police arrived to arrest Ward, the suspect reportedly tried to assault an officer, but was unsuccessful. (Too much mead?!) Ward was ultimately arrested and charged with attempted assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and theft.
