Mother Accused Of Injecting Her 14-Year-Old Daughter With Heroin

A Pennsylvania mother is charged with endangering the welfare of children after prosecutors say she injected her own 14-year-old daughter and another teen with heroin.

CBS Philadelphia reports that 34-year-old Jessica Lynn Riffey is accused not only of supplying her own 14-year-old daughter with heroin, but injecting the drug into her daughter and a 16-year-old boy on “multiple occasions” in September.

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan told CBS, “Supplying anyone with heroin is a potential death sentence. Injecting children, including your own daughter with heroin demonstrates a depravity that defies belief.”

According to ABC, the teens confessed to police, telling them Riffey was the person who supplied them with the illegal drugs. A neighbor spoke out to the same station and said the family spiraled out of control earlier this year when the 14-year-old girl had access to alcohol and marijuana.

Hogan told ABC, “In law enforcement we get to see a lot of bad things. But this level of depravity really makes you begin to lose faith in humankind. A mother is supposed to take care of her child.”

Riffey is being held on a $50,000 cash bail. The daughter is now staying with her father.
