Ohio Man HateS His Mugshot, Sends Police A ‘Better’ Selfie

They put a picture that made me look like I was a Thundercat or something.

That was the verdict from 45-year-old Donald A. “Chip” Pugh on the mugshot circulated by Lima, Ohio police in their attempt to bring Pugh in on an active warrant.

Police had a mugshot on file for Pugh thanks to previous busts for charges such as domestic violence, breaking and entering, and even simple disorderly conduct. The man is considered a person of interest in a few other cases in the area, too, including at least one arson.

When he saw the images of himself that had been posted on Facebook by the Lima PD, he decided to let them know of his disapproval. He messaged the police a new selfie. Lieutenant Andy Green of the Lima Police Department reportedly contacted Pugh and spoke with him, urging Pugh to turn himself in, but Pugh reportedly claimed to be out of state.

Police quickly added it to the Facebook post. As of this writing, the post has been shared almost 4,000 times.

And because the Internet loves a good meme, especially when it’s filled with this level of chutzpah, the Free Chip Pugh community has been created on Facebook. It is something of a “Where’s Waldo?” of photoshopped images from members of where Chip Pugh might be hiding.

If you have any information on Donald Pugh’s whereabouts, you are asked to contact the Lima Police Department at (419) 227-4444.
