  • NYPD reportedly shrugs at reports of a man riding the subway with his testicles exposed. According to a tipster who sent a photo of the ballhanger on the 4 subway train to Gothamist:

“The man was wearing short jean shorts that he apparently cut so that he would be exposed when he sat down. He was sitting down with his testicles out, resting on the subway bench in full view. On Sunday, at around 7:00 p.m. I encountered a flasher on the 4 train from Grand Central to Union Square. The man was wearing short jean shorts that he apparently cut so that he would be exposed when he sat down. He was sitting down with his testicles out, resting on the subway bench in full view. … I photographed the man so I could report him to the police. … I reported the man to the 9th precinct, but the officers declined to write a police report. They said that unless he was overtly gesturing at me or masturbating, there was ‘nothing they could do.'”

Reportedly, after the story made the rounds, the NYPD decided to prioritize finding this ballsy commuter. [Gothamist]

  • Man who claims he was Orlando shooter Omar Mateen’s lover, believes the attack was not about homophobia or Islam, but his alleged hatred of Puerto Ricans. In an interview with Univision, a man identified only as “Miguel” and disguised by prosthetics said that he and Mateen were “friends with benefits” for two months after meeting on Grindr. He believes Mateen’s mass shooting was motivated by his hatred of Puerto Ricans and “all the bad things they did to him,” including an alleged HIV scare last year. [Gawker]

  • Monster truck stocked with weapons and ammo stopped by police in Holland Tunnel. Yesterday, the NYPD stopped a monster truck from entering Manhattan and were stunned to discovered that it was full of weapons and ammunition. The driver is allegedly an anti-heroin vigilante – his heroin-addicted daughter died last year — and told police he was on his way into the city to “rescue” a teenage girl who had just overdosed. The driver, Pennsylvania gun-range owner John Cramsey, 50, runs an anti-heroin group called Enough in Enough, and posted about the rescue he was allegedly making, writing, “This young lady is scared and wants to come home. Last night she woke to find her friend’s body next to her in the same bed where her friend died of another heroin overdose.” Cramsey and his passengers, Dean Smith, 53, and Kimberly Arendt, 29, were arrested and all face weapons and drug charges. [IB Times]
