  • An Arkansas man was arrested Thursday evening for public intoxication after cops found him “holding on to a pillar for support” outside a shelter in Mountain Home with permanent-marker drawings all over his face. Luis Humberto Ramirez, 36 (above), had scratches on his face and scrapes on his arms and legs, police say, and was so drunk that officers could not administer a Breathalyzer test. • A Massachusetts woman reportedly slapped a nightclub bouncer after he refused to accept a slice of pizza as her form of identification. Staff at the Monkey Bar and Grill in Amherst reportedly asked the 21-year-old woman for ID shortly after midnight last Thursday. But when the bouncer refused to accept the slice of pizza, the woman got angry and slapped him. According to a police report in the Daily Hampshire Gazette, the woman has been served with a trespass notice warning her to stay away from the club. [Scotsman]
  • Ohio police busted a suspect who allegedly wrapped $330,000 worth of THC pills, hash wax oil, and marijuana to resemble Christmas presents before loading the stash in the back of his car. Daniel Yates, 31, was pulled over in his rented 2016 Ford Expedition on Monday morning for driving too closely, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol press release — and then a drug-sniffing police dog detected contraband. Yates was charged with the felonies of possession and trafficking in drugs. He could face $30,000 in fines and up to 16 years behind bars if convicted. [Newser]

UK police are gearing up for the holiday season by warning anyone caught drinking and driving that they will blast Nickelback while hauling them to jail. “Know that the Kensington Police Service will be out for the remainder of year looking for those dumb enough to feel they can drink and drive. And when we catch you, and we will catch you, on top of a hefty fine, a criminal charge and a year’s driving suspension we will also provide you with a bonus gift of playing the offices copy of Nickelback in the cruiser on the way to jail,” a post on the Kensington Police Service Facebook page reads. “Now, now, no need to thank us, we figure if you are foolish enough to get behind the wheel after drinking then a little Chad Kroeger and the boys is the perfect gift for you…You don’t drink and drive and we won’t make you listen to it.” [Kensington Police Service/Facebook]

  • The paraplegic man accused of shooting his handyman, dismembering him, and dumping his body parts by the side of the road has been sentenced to life in prison. • Police in New York City are searching for the suspect who stole an 86-pound bucket of gold flakes worth nearly $1.6 million off an armored truck in Midtown. The unidentified thief allegedly took the five-gallon metal bucket off the back of the vehicle on September 29 on West 48th Street while the driver was retrieving his cell phone, then dragged the gold flakes slowly up the street. Police say he left in a white van, and they believe he may be hiding out in Florida. [ABC News]

Former pro football player Darren Sharper was sentenced today to 20 years in state prison and ordered to register for life as a sex offender after earlier admitting to drugging and raping two women, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Sharper, 41, pleaded no contest to two counts of rape by use of drugs and four counts of furnishing a controlled substance related to an incident on October 30, 2013, when Sharper met two women at a West Hollywood nightclub. He allegedly invited the women to another party and then told them that he needed to stop at his Los Angeles hotel room en route. While upstairs, he gave the women a drink, and both passed out. One victim said she awoke naked hours later with Sharper sexually assaulting her before the second woman “interrupted his actions.” [Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office]
