MEXICO CITY, MEXICO — Police in Mexico have discovered a horrific scene — including garbage bags full of human bones — at the apartment of a man they have accused of killing a date he met on Tinder before dissolving her body in acid.

Police say Emmanuel Delani Valdez Bocanegra, 26, met his victim Francia Ruth Ibarra, 26, on the dating app and then went out with her several times over the past few months.

On December 3, Ibarra failed to turn up for a movie date with a friend, and her worried family in Leon reported her missing.

Following her disappearance, her friends at the University of Guanajuato backtracked her social-media postings and found she’d been dating Boncanegra, a former medical student.

She had never introduced Bocanegra to them, and he reportedly avoided meeting her friends and family. Authorities tracked the suspect to Mexico City, where they arrested him. He reportedly told police he killed Ibarra and attempted to dissolve her body in acid after she refused to have sex with him.

Police also reportedly found human flesh at the scene that they were able to determine was a DNA match to the victim. They also found her clothes inside the apartment.
