Florida police are searching for a suspect who robbed a local gas station disguised in a bandanna and bizarre drawn-on beard.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says they are uncertain of the gender of the person who reportedly attempted to rob Holiday Gas Station near Highway 19 at approximately 8:30 P.M. on December 14. The robber walked into the store and demanded cash, according to police, but did not display a weapon.
Authorities first described the suspect as a heavyset white individual, aged approximately 30 to 40 years old with long dark hair. Police say the perp was also wearing a red bandanna, clear gloves, glasses, and a green, army style jumpsuit. The department later clarified the description, which was apparently throwing people off due to the facial hair that looked like it was scrawled on by a Sharpie marker.
“Just to clarify, the previous description was based on witness statements that the suspect was a male,” the agency later wrote on Facebook. “We are still looking for tips and the suspect may be a male or female.”
The suspect fled the scene in a tan or brown Toyota truck, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office at 1 (800) 707-2488. A reward of up to $3,000 in return for information can also be claimed by calling Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 1 (800) 873-TIPS.
