LOS ANGELES, CA — The body of a registered nurse and former reality-show contestant has been found in a shallow grave in the Los Angeles yard of the man accused of killing her.
Lisa Marie Naegle, 36, went missing after attending a birthday party Saturday night at Alpine Village in Torrance, California, not far from her home in San Pedro. Jackie Jerome Rogers, 34, was also a guest at the party.
She called her husband at about 2:45 A.M. Sunday and said she was stopping to get something to eat on her way home, but she never made it back. A missing-persons report was filed Monday, according to the LAPD.
TMZ has obtained a photo of Lisa Marie posing with Rogers taken at the party at 12:04 A.M. Sunday.
Local news reports say that after doing their own detective work, Naegle’s family discovered security footage showing Naegle and Rogers leaving the party together at 2:18 A.M. The distraught family confronted Rogers with the video evidence, and Rogers later told police he killed Naegle with a hammer and he led officers to the body buried in the backyard of his home.
Media reports have given conflicting accounts of the relationship between Naegle and Rogers. Rogers was reportedly a student at a college nursing class taught by Naegle, and told authorities he was having an affair with her. Naegle’s sister Danielle Naegle-Kaimona referred to Rogers as “a friend” who was “infatuated” with her sister and may have become enraged when she rejected his advances.
“We begged and pleaded that he’d come to our home to kind of give us details on what time, where were things, and when he left her, but while he was talking to us and telling us his story, multiple different times he said he absolutely did not go home with her, or did not take her home,” Naegel’s sister Danielle Naegle-Kaimona told ABC 7.
Rogers was actually in the room when Naegle’s family spoke to the media about her disappearance.
Rogers is expected to be booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $2 million bail, according to the LAPD. Naegle was a contestant on the E! reality series Bridalplasty which ran for one season in 2010 and featured 12 women competing in various challenges to win a wedding and a plastic-surgery procedure.
According to Naegle’s Facebook page, she attended high school in her hometown of San Pedro followed by college at UCLA. She was a nurse instructor at West Los Angeles College, and lists her acting credits as E! News and The Bill Cunningham Show.
