DUNDALK, MD — A Maryland man was arrested after allegedly shooting at his wife after someone took a bite out of his grilled cheese sandwich, police said.
Cops responded to a domestic incident at the home of Daniel Brian Blackwell in Dundalk, Maryland, home at around 5 P.M. Sunday, WBAL-TV reported. When police arrived, Blackwell’s wife and their daughter came outside and told them that Blackwell fired his weapon multiple times in a rage after he discovered a piece of his sandwich missing.
“Apparently, the man had made a grilled cheese sandwich and either the wife or the daughter, we’re not exactly sure who, but somebody, one of the females in the house, took a bite of his sandwich, and apparently, that enraged him to the point that he fired shots in the house,” Baltimore County police spokesman Cpl. Shawn Vinson told the station.
Blackwell barricaded himself inside his home and, following a three-hour standoff with police, stepped outside and was subdued with pepper balls.
Police seized three handguns and 12 long guns from the suspect’s home, as well as a large amount of ammunition.
Blackwell has been charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and several firearms violations.
No word on whether he was able to finish his grilled cheese or not.
