LYNWOOD, WA — A Washington man lived the definition of “date from hell” when a woman he met on Craigslist attacked him in a motel room and stabbed him in the lung with a pocketknife.
Police say the the 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder after attacking her 29-year-old date at the Rodeo Inn in Lynnwood. The man told police that he and the suspect met on Craigslist through a post he made seeking dating, not sex. Despite that, they ended up together in a motel room.
He said that they were getting along well when she asked him several times if he was a serial killer and — after he told her he was not — climbed on top of him and said, “Well, I am a serial killer” and pulled out a pocketknife.
The woman then stabbed him in the chest. He tried to break free, but had a difficult time due to her weight. Finally he managed to escape the room and call police from the motel office.
Police found the suspect in the parking lot, and when they asked what happened, she replied, “I’m a loon.” She reportedly said she had planned to eat the victim’s heart after she stabbed him to death and then leave a note saying she planned to kill again.
A judge on Tuesday set her bail at $1 million. He victim is recovering with a punctured lung.
