Amanda Taylor Murdered Father-In-Law, Posted Photos Of His Body On Instagram

The serial-killer obsessed Virginia woman who killed her father-in-law and snapped selfies with his dead body is sure to go down as one of the most shocking murder cases ever to play out on social media.

Amanda Taylor, 24, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Charles Taylor, 59, on April 4, 2015. Shortly after the murder, she described her grief over the death of her husband Rex — and discussed her reasons for killing — in a graphic Instagram post.

“Everything I did was for the right reasons. I stabbed my father-in-law to death because he destroyed my husband….” the mother of two wrote. “I wasn’t the perfect wife, but this was one last good thing I could do.”

She followed it up with a post on her Facebook page saying, “I proudly did this for Rex.”

Police discovered Charles Taylor fatally stabbed 31 times with a bayonet-style knife — and Amanda had taken the time after her murderous frenzy to snap selfies at the scene with the bloody knife and Charles’ body in the background.

Amanda met Rex at school. She dropped out after getting pregnant, and the couple — who both wrote to imprisoned serial killers — married and had two children. But Rex was apparently battling drug addiction, and Amanda blamed his father Charles for introducing him to prescription drugs when he was just 15.

The pair separated in April 2014, and Rex moved back in with his dad. In August 2014, he committed suicide by hanging himself in a shed.

Amanda was devastated, and put the blame squarely on Charles.

So, with murderous intentions, she went to his home with her friend Sean Ball. They timed the attack for exactly 3:27 P.M. in order to commemorate the birthday Amanda shared with Rex.

Sean later confessed that he hit the victim with a tire iron while Amanda attacked him with the bayonet. Amanda and Sean then stole money from Charles’ wallet, and fled.

After the killing, Amanda continued to post Instagram updates under her username brunette_bomber, and told a television reporter that the excitement of killing the elder Taylor was similar to her first roller-coaster ride.

Alright… it’s about that time. I’m going to go find my husband in Hell & finally be at peace,” she wrote on Instagram next to a photo of a gun on her lap. “I love you mom & my beautiful crazies, I know you’ll give them the life I just couldn’t after everything… I can’t apologize ’cause I’m finally going to be free.”

Sean Ball was found on the side of the road, seemingly shot by Amanda. She was finally arrested in North Carolina, and later told a reporter that she had shot Ball because he appeared to show remorse following the killings, and did not want to murder any more victims. Despite her best efforts, Ball survived.

At trial, Amanda’s attorneys did not deny that she was the killer, but said they believed the act was justified and that love is a “powerful and overwhelming motivator.” Ball pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, and was sentenced to 60 years in prison.

Amanda was convicted in 2015 of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. Earlier this month, a Virginia Court of Appeals denied her request for a new trial.

WTH is going on with our youth? Did we give life to a generation of teens without a conscience? Killing seems to be the “norm” among these sociopaths. God help us all.

She posted the pictures to Instagram before she was arrested. They do not allow inmates in prison to have FB or go online aside from those who get released for work and have cell phones while at work. Some prisons allow inmates to communicate through emails to family and friends as well. But they can’t just surf the Web like anyone else.
