Casey Anthony Breaks Silence: “I Don’t Give a S–t What Anyone Thinks About Me”

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Casey Anthony, the sometimes so-called “most hated mom in America,” has spoken to the Associated Press for the first time since being acquitted in 2011 for the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.

In the course of five on-the-record AP interviews, Anthony stated:

“I don’t give a s— about what anyone thinks about me, I never will. I’m okay with myself, I sleep pretty good at night.

I understand the reasons people feel about me. I understand why people have the opinions that they do. I’m still not even certain as I stand here today about what happened.”

Caylee Anthony was allegedly last seen alive on June 16, 2005. Anthony did not report the child missing until July 15, telling authorities that a babysitter had taken off with her daughter. Police charged Anthony with child neglect.

On December 11, a utility worker discovered Caylee’s skeletal remains in the woods near Anthony’s home. Officers then arrested the woman who would later be taunted as “Tot Mom” for murder.

While awaiting trial, Anthony was convicted on multiple counts of lying to the police, specifically about Caylee being with a babysitter; about telling two people, neither of whom existed, that Caylee had disappeared; about receiving a phone call from Caylee; and about having a job at Universal Studios.

In the AP interview, Anthony confesses that she lied, but adds:

“Even if I would’ve told them everything that I told to the psychologist, I hate to say this but I firmly believe I would have been in the same place. Because cops believe other cops. Cops tend to victimize the victims. Cops lie to people every day. I’m just one of the unfortunate idiots who admitted they lied…. My dad was a cop. You can read into that what you want to.”

At present, Anthony shares a home with Patrick McKenna, a private investigator who spearheaded her defense team. He also employs her as a researcher and an assistant. Weirdly enough, McKenna was also the lead investigator on O.J. Simpson’s defense team.

For now, Casey Anthony is also embroiled in multiple legal and financial headaches, many stemming from an ongoing bankruptcy case.

She says she occasionally goes to local bars with friends and garners a lot of attention, sometimes from guys wanting to buy her drinks, but more often it’s pointing fingers, derisive laughter, and flashing camera phones.

The sit-down occurred after an AP reporter came across Anthony at an anti-Trump rally in January. Anthony agreed to the five interviews, which took place over a week’s time, despite later attempting to back out. Anthony told the reporter, “During the course of my bankruptcy, the rights to my story were purchased by a third party company for $25k to protect my interests. Without written authorization from the controlling members of this company, I am prohibited from speaking publicly about my case at any time.”

As for her murdered daughter, Anthony told the AP, “Everyone has their theories [as to how Caylee died]. I don’t know… Caylee would be 12 right now, and would be a total badass. I’d like to think she’d be listening to classic rock and playing sports and not taking s–t from anybody.”

Alas, there are some things the world will never know.
