Exclusive: NYPD “Cannibal Cop” Gil Valle Discusses “Extreme And Disturbing” New Horror Novel

NEW YORK, NY — Gil Valle, the NYPD officer who was given the nickname the “Cannibal Cop” in 2012 after he got caught allegedly planning to kidnap, torture, kill, cook, and eat women, has penned a new horror novel — in which women are kidnapped, killed, and eaten.

Valle signed a deal with publisher Comet Press, who wrote in a press release that they are very excited to be publishing A Gathering of Evil, Valle’s “extreme and very disturbing” novel, this winter.

According to the description:

“A Gathering of Evil is the story of two New York women leading seemingly normal lives, completely unaware that they have been targeted by a group of wealthy and violent sadists. This group, who met through the Dark Web, share some rather unusual sexual desires, along a desire to turn those twisted fantasies into reality.

” A Gathering of Evil is a graphic and disturbing story that will make even the most hardened fan of extreme horror squirm, including the Comet Press editors. Hats off to Gil for writing one of the most horrific books we’ve ever read. It takes a helluva lot to get under our skin, and he succeeded.”

Though Valle has been totally exonerated of all wrongdoing, he told CrimeFeed that he turned to writing after realizing that he could probably never return to his old role in law enforcement.

I wish that I had my old life back, but that isn’t going to happen. I’ve been completely cleared of all wrongdoing but that doesn’t mean that I can suddenly have a normal life. It’s not going to happen. I’m 33 years old and I hopefully have a long life left. I have to make the best out of the circumstances in my life, and maybe a career as an author is what will be right for me,” he said.

Valle said that the characters are “all fictional” and not based on real people.

“I did research some things to make certain aspects of the story sound more realistic. Most of it is just me though. I have this ability to visualize a scene and write about it including all of the nuanced, little details. It’s a very scary book. It’s considered an extreme horror book, but it’s not 300 pages of blood and gore.

“I even had a hard time reading it when I was editing it. It’s not a book that’s going to be for everyone, but anyone who is into horror and wants to have their boundaries challenged should definitely check it out when it’s released.”

Valle said that he enjoyed “everything” about writing the memoir — which he accomplished in just a month, and then had a deal less than a week after that. He plans to continue writing.

Many people reached out to me directly on social media. A few of them suggested that I should channel my fantasies into a horror novel, so I thought about it and decided to give it a shot. I have the ability to tell a good, detailed story, and I think that something coming from me would have to be graphic and scary. I don’t think people who are familiar with me and the stigma attached to me would expect anything different,” he said.

This is Valle’s first novel. He released Raw Deal,” a memoir about his ordeal and the criminal case, in February 2017.
