Three Arrested In Connection With Connecticut Assault, Kidnapping

WEST HAVEN, CT — Three people have been arrested in connection with the assault and kidnapping of a woman in Connecticut.

Police said that when they went to investigate a domestic violence call at Yale-New Haven Hospital at 2:40 A.M. on Tuesday, the victim said a man and a woman assaulted her at a West Haven home and forced her into the trunk of a car.

Following the attack, the victim said her kidnappers drove her to Milford, where she was able to escape and alert a resident, who called Milford Police.

Police identified the suspects as Jason Kaufman, 31, and Jenny Santamauro, 29. West Haven Detectives took Kaufman and Santamauro into custody. They also arrested a third man, who was later identified as Christopher Nussas.

The victim was sent to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for injuries, according to police.

Kaufman and Santamauro were charged with kidnapping in the second degree, assault in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, and unlawful restraint in the first degree.

Both were held on a $100,000 bond.
