BONITA SPRINGS, FL — Three Florida teens were arrested after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint, and then posting a video about the crime on social media.
Ernesto Antonio Ortiz, 18, and two 17-year-old boys met with a man who believed that he was buying a Louis Vuitton belt from them for $200, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
But when the man got out of his car, one of the teens reportedly held a gun to his ribs while his accomplices stole two necklaces, a bracelet, and $200 from their victim.
The suspects released the man — and then later sealed their fate by making a video bragging about the heist on Snapchat. In the video, one can see two of the group holding up the items they stole while another points the gun at the camera.
Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office’s Robbery Unit quickly identified the three teens, who are reportedly well known to police due to their criminal histories in Lee County.
All three face a felony charge of robbery with a firearm — and all reportedly already have long rap sheets.
The two 17-year-olds, who have previously been arrested for burglary, are being housed at the Department of Juvenile Justice. Ortiz is being held on $100,000 bond.
