LONDON, ENGLAND — A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on three separate occasions in one hour in east London by up to five suspects, according to police.
The victim became separated from her friends after a night out at a club in Tower Hamlets, East London, according to the Metropolitan police.
She was attacked on three separate occasion between 11.55 P.M. on Friday, September 29, and 12.55 A.M. on September 30.
CCTV footage and still images of two of the men have been retrieved from different cameras, and the police have released footage in the hope of helping identify the perpetrators.
The victim’s ordeal started shortly before midnight when she was first picked up on camera being carried by a man on Cambridge Heath Road. The pair are then seen appearing to go into a doorway on the same road — and later, the top half of the girl’s clothing was found nearby.
Shortly after midnight, another CCTV camera picks up the girl stumbling down Mint Street being followed by a different, bearded male, on a racing bicycle. Images released by police show the man wearing a baseball cap backwards, a hooded zip jacket, and a plain T-shirt underneath.
The CCTV camera showed the victim and the second perpetrator as they approached Corfield Street, where the man appeared to direct the victim to an area where they disappeared for a period of time.
The victim later emerged, and minutes later, police suspect that she suffered a third attack. This time, detectives say that she may have been attacked by two or even three men. The footage reveals that one of the suspects has a distinctive, uneven walk.
The victim was eventually spotted by a passing pedestrian who called the police. Officers believe it is possible that she was drugged and are in the process of conducting toxicology tests.
Police urge any witnesses who may have seen something suspicious to come forward.
