HOLLYWOOD, FL — Florida police are hunting for a suspect who allegedly participated in the torture and murder of a man who invited him over for three-way sex as Hurricane Irma hit the state, according to police.

Ariel Fleitas Gonzalez, 50, was killed on September 10 in his home in Hollywood, Florida, after inviting two men over to have sex with him. Neighbors said they saw the duo entering and leaving Gonzalez’s apartment the day of the killing. One of them, who has been identified as 30-year-old Travis Emanuel Watson, listed as homeless, is in police custody.

The other man, who witnesses say was wearing a long, blonde wig, is still at large.

Watson, 30, reportedly told detectives that the incident began as a consensual sexual encounter between him, his husband, and the victim. He said that the tryst turned into a robbery when he punched Gonzalez in the face and stole his wallet.

Watson claimed that his partner became jealous during the encounter and “tortured,” Gonzalez by beating him with a hanger, broomstick, and power cord, and binding his hands behind his back with a sheet — and later a belt. Watson said he tried to stop the assault once his partner poured hot grease on the victim.

Gonzalez was reported missing three days after the murder by a concerned friend who smelled a foul odor coming from his apartment at Chatham Terrace — which was still without power.

Police found blood all over the apartment and the victim’s body decomposing and wrapped in a comforter and shrink wrap in a closet. Detectives said that the victim had suffered significant trauma to the head.

Watson said he and his partner realized Gonzalez was dead when they saw his tongue was purple, and after unsuccessfully trying to get rid of the evidence, they remained in the apartment for two additional days, according to police.

Watson had just been released from state prison on June 1 after a 2004 conviction for grand theft of a firearm, armed robbery, and other offenses, according to Assistant State Attorney Eric Linder. He now faces a string of charges including murder, unarmed robbery, kidnapping, and not reporting Gonzalez’s death.

A judge ordered that he be held without bond for the kidnapping charge at his September 28 arraignment hearing, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

The investigation continues.
