Hancock had been drinking prior to when she collided with Dill’s 2009 Mazda. Initial reports indicated that Hancock’s blood alcohol content tested at .122 two hours after the crash. However, prosecutors now say it was actually between .17 and .19 — which still is over the legal limit.
Hancock’s monetary punishment may seem like she’s getting off easy, but be aware that she still faces a massive felony aggravated DUI manslaughter charge, which could carry a 20-year jail sentence. Hancock will return to court on May 23.
