THOUSAND OAKS, CA — Police raided the home of Heather Locklear on Tuesday to seize a gun after she threatened to shoot the law-enforcement officers who arrested her on February 25 on domestic-violence charges.
“She had made some very specific threats to deputies after her last arrest,” Captain Mike Beckett with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told ET. “There was a firearm registered in her name, so the purpose of the search was simply to go and look for that firearm.”
According to a news release from police, Locklear “told deputies she would shoot them if they ever came to her house again.”
Detectives searched the 56-year-old actress’ home in Thousand Oaks, California, on Tuesday. They reportedly were unable to find the firearm.
Locklear was arrested on February 25 on a felony count of domestic violence and three counts of battery on a peace officer. According to police, she attacked her boyfriend, Chris Heisser, and then became combative with three police officers who were investigating and allegedly kicked and struck them.
Locklear was taken to the hospital for evaluation before she was booked into jail. She later bonded out. Hours later, Heisser was arrested on a DUI charge.
Locklear has been arrested for DUI and had issues with drug abuse and domestic violence in the past. In 2011, the LAPD responded to the home of her ex-boyfriend Jack Wagner after the couple got into a verbal altercation that allegedly turned physical. Neither Wagner nor Locklear pressed charges at the time.
ET quoted sources who told them that Locklear’s life had been “spiraling out of control” recently.
The actress is expected to make an appearance in Ventura Superior Court next week.
