ORIGINAL STORY (AUGUST 27, 2018):
ARDMORE, PA — Police are investigating the death of a former Playboy model who was found strangled inside the bedroom of her condominium.
Christina Carlin-Kraft, 36, was discovered dead last Wednesday when officers arrived to conduct a wellness check. She had called police the previous Saturday to report missing items and a possible burglary in her condo.
A subsequent autopsy determined Carlin-Kraft’s death to be a homicide resulting from “ligature strangulation,” meaning that the killer used a rope or other cord-like object to fatally choke the victim.
Fox 29 reports that video from the building’s lobby and the use of Carlin-Kraft’s stolen credit card led investigators to a residence in Philadelphia, where they found two of the victim’s stolen handbags.
Officers made two arrests at that location on drug and gun charges, but none in relation to the murder. Authorities have not announced if the burglary is connected to Carlin-Kraft’s death.
An unnamed friend told the press that the condo was owned by Carlin-Kraft’s boyfriend, a Wall Street banker she had been dating for about nine years, and that she had been living there for nearly a year.
Another resident, however, told reporters that Carlin-Kraft had moved in just about a week prior to her murder.
Christina Carlin-Kraft had become a popular Instagram model who had previously posed for Playboy, Maxim, Vanity Fair, and Smashbox Cosmetics. In 2016, she was involved in a restaurant altercation that led to six months probation, which she successfully completed.
